Leading cancer support in Wales

Since its' formation in 1993, Cancer Information and Support Services has become one of the leading cancer support organisations in Wales. CISS helped over 300 families during the first year of operation, and that figure has risen steadily ever since. The organisation continues to expand, and during 2010 in excess of 7,000 contacts were made.

Support for people affected by cancer has now extended beyond South West Wales, with contacts monitored across the UK and even as far afield as India and South Africa.

CISS drop-in centres

CISS operates from two information drop-in centres in South West Wales: a central office near to Swansea city centre and another in the Neath Town Centre. Both centres have access to a vast selection of printed information and offer counselling on a one to one basis & support groups.

Our aims

The ethos at CISS has always been to provide emotional support and factual information away from medical establishments, avoiding all possible barriers to open discussion. This has led to an objective, flexible cancer support service.

Who can we help?

CISS offers support to anyone over eighteen whose life has been affected by cancer in any way - patient, carers, family and friends.

The Swansea centre is manned on Mondays between 10am and 12 noon, Wednesdays and Fridays between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. Our Neath centre is open Mondays Tuesdays & Thursdays between 2pm and 4pm.
